PRESENTATIE 17 APRIL 14 - 18 u
'The contemporary myth of the sea, a new epic' by Giuseppe Licari (artist, IT) & Cristina Ampatzidou (architect/urbanist, GR)

SWINGING THE LAMP

Licari and Ampatzidou turned their residency at Badgast in a 4 week field research. They collected local coastal narratives and legends, some believed to be true. These inspired the creation of a new perspective on narrative heritage.
With special thanks to Muzee Scheveningen, Visafslag Scheveningen, Fast Community and all participants.

'Sailors Souvenirs'

Research, interviews and workshops will give the input for the creation of a contemporary myth, stemming from the local stories and popular sea culture.
Giuseppe Licari focuses on the space surrounding us partly because he intends to give to the audience an active role in his work; performances, workshops, talking, public art, installations are ways of dealing with the audience through a social experience. People are invited to participate, but simultaneously, they create different levels of relations and experiences, contributing to the artwork itself.
Cristina Ampatzidou is an architect and urbanist interested in the ways people perceive and project space. In her work architecture and citymaking become devices that channel this knowledge in towards better living.
