De Italiaanse kunstenaar Giuseppe Licari stelt vragen over eigenaarschap van het landschap en de invloed van de mens op de 'natuurlijke' wereld. Het landschap is zwaar vervuild en uitgebuit tot aan de rand van uitputting.
Voor Klimaat als mensenwerk in de context van de Electriciteitsfabriek presenteert Licari een kunstmatige, glasachtige obsidiaansteen. Geïnspireerd door slaksteen, een afvalproduct van staal industrie. Hij beschouwt de planeet als een steen, waarop de mensheid een feestje houdt. Waaruit we alle materialen putten die we nodig hebben. Licari: "Het concept ‘natuur’ is een menselijke uitvinding. Op het moment dat we de scheiding tussen natuur en mens opheffen en het niet-menselijke verhaal in het politieke discours brengen, zullen we in een meer gebalanceerde wereld leven."
Disco Stone, is gemaakt van epoxy. Het materiaal van onze eeuw, dat lijkt op glas maar kunstmatig is, zoals het staalafval en vrij giftig. Het werk weerspiegelt als een metafoor onze planeet en onze hebzucht naar hulpbronnen. We geven vorm aan het landschap maar tegelijkertijd worden we gevormd door het landschap.

For Climate as Artifact in the setting of Electriciteitsfabriek, Licari is presenting an artificial, glassy obsidian like stone. Inspired by slak, the waste product from steel industries. He regards the planet as a stone, on which humanity celebrates a party. From which we draw all materials that we need. Licari: "The concept of 'nature' is a human invention. The moment we delete the separation between nature and culture and bring the non-human narratives into the political discourse, we will live in a more balanced world."
Disco Stone is made of epoxy. The material of our century, which looks like glass, but is artificial, like the steel waste and quite toxic. The work reflects as a metaphor our planet and our greed for resources. We shape the landscape, but at the same time we are shaped by the landscape.
